My encounter with a religious loon over the weekend...
Ok, here's the story. I was sitting inside an antique store on Saturday, March 24th-2012 assisting the senior lady that runs the place. A woman walks in, starts looking around and then asked me what happened to me. I told her that I was in a house explosion to make the story as short as possible. She then asked me if I believed in God. I just said "no comment". My personal beliefs are my personal beliefs and what I believe in or not is no one's business but my own.
Well she proceeded to tell me the story of a little boy that was born with no arms, legs, eyes, and that god helped him grow them. Really! I was saying to myself. What kind of a bs story is this. I have never, ever heard of any boy being born with no arms, legs, eyes, have them to grow and form later.
I just sat there listening to her loony-toon story, and she told me that if I do believe in God, he can grow me new skin, fingers, ears and repair all the 3-6th degree burns I sustained over 30 years ago.
I don't know why people talk like that to people like me. I know there is no way I am going to wake up with all new skin and fingers. It's been over 30 years and the only help is done through doctors and modern meds and technology.
I'm an Atheist, and I am proud to be one. The thought of talking such lunacy like this woman did makes me very glad that I have not been brainwashed into believing in all the bs that has been fed into the sheeple's heads.
If there was a god, I would think it would have taken care of me a long time ago since god didn't judge people and accepted everyone.
So am I being punished for "not believing" in her god? No. I was in an unfortunate accident caused by my step-dad when I was 11 an a half yo. Doctors and modern meds saved my life, not some invisible man in the sky. Those are the facts. I've learned to lie with it, have friends, and worked most of my life. Yes it has been a tough life, and quite a struggle, but I survived thanks to doctors, technology and modern meds.
