Mom of bullied gay teen Jonah Mowry says he’s uplifted by support www.nydailynews.com/news/national/mom-bullied-gay-teen-jonah-mowry-uplifted-support-article-1.987473The mother of a bullied gay teen says she and her son are grateful for an outpouring of celebrity support after he posted videos about his plight. "I'm thankful," Peggy Sue Mowry told ABC News on Tuesday morning. "There are a lot of people that are giving their warm wishes and uplifting Jonah, and I think that's good." Since Jonah, 14, of Lake Forest, Calif., posted the videos on YouTube three months ago, he has received online support from celebrities including Rosie O'Donnell, Ricky Martin, Zooey Deschanel and Kim Kardashian. "This makes me so sad," Kardashian wrote on her website. "Bullying has to end!" Jonah Mowry has also received counseling and gained a few more friends — including 35,000 who "like" him on Facebook. On that page, he posted a heartfelt thanks to his supporters — but on Monday night also questioned people who posted less-than-sweet messages. "I looked thru the messages, and I am happy to see so many people supporting this cause. THANK YOU! In the same time, I am shocked to realize how much HATE is out there. How did we get here? How many children has to die in order to see a change?" he asked. His mother also blasted people who think he made the videos to get attention. "I'm disappointed that somebody could look at the first video and then look at the second and think it's a lie," Peggy Sue Mowry told ABC. "He's a child. He's a 14-year-old boy. He's very young.
